Vernissatge d’en Mejan (26 octubre 2012)
Arriba el moment de presentar al públic “La Xina del cor” de Mejan. L’artista es mostra molt il·lusionat amb aquesta nova temàtica que omple de color la Sala Rusiñol. Sense marxar de l’estil al qual ens té acostumats, ha tingut la valentia de treballar unes teles que mostren els sentiments fruit d’un periple que realitzà a la Xina als voltants del 2005.
L’Ignasi Cabanas, director de la Sala Rusiñol, explica als assistents el motiu d’aquesta exposició així com fa referència al conjunt de dibuixos que acompanyen la mostra i que van ser realitzats in situ. L’originalitat dels mateixos rau especialment en la tècnica ja que molts d’ells són treballats amb collage. Seguidament cedí la paraula a Josep M. Cadena.
“Mejan fa una investigació sobre els sentiments humans a través del paisatge. Hi ha sensualitat en tots els seus quadres. Una sensualitat que jo he citat diverses vegades i que ell sempre em diu: No sé on la veus! Jo la veig en el fet que les coses s’ajunten, en què hi ha unes corbes amoroses, en què hi ha un sentit de l’herba que avança cap a la llunyania, al fons una referència a un bosc, després pot venir el mar o un llac i després, encara, ve una altra vegada el cel i la terra. És una conjunció de pensaments. És la conjunció de totes les coses que ens estan passant a nosaltres”. 
A la seva dissertació va fer referència al fet de què el país ja dedica grans extensions de terreny al conreu de raïm per tal de produir vi. “D’aquí a uns anys produiran més vi que nosaltres i això no ho hem d’interpretar com un perill, sinó com un estímul per a continuar avançant”. Comentari que li serví per a explicar que amb l’art passa el mateix: “l’artista s’ha d’anar renovant i no pot estancar-se en l’art que ha anat practicant i Mejan ha fet això. Tot i que es mou en unes determinades pautes, aquestes són variades contínuament, perquè són també les dels sentiments dels éssers humans”.
Finalment arribà el torn de l’artista qui ens explicà amb cura certes curiositats d’aquella cultura i els seus costums. També va fer palesa la barrera idiomàtica com a element que dificulta el poder entrar en contacte amb el poble xinès. Tot i així explicà que a la seva obra ha procurat reflectir les múltiples impressions que rebé tot fugint de l’anècdota, de les coses que fàcilment es poden identificar, ja que el que li interessava era polsar el paisatge.
