- Tú? (nombre, nacimiento y lo que quieras): Katerina Alavedra-Duchoslav. Nací en Praga, (República Checa, la antigua Checoslovaquia), el año 1958. Casada con Manel y vivo en Sant Cugat del Vallès, desde hace más de 25 años. Tenemos dos hijos: Alexandra (de 25 años) y Manel (de 22). Estoy muy contenta donde vivo; es una ciudad llena de artistas y con gente encantadora.
- Una virtud tuya a destacar?: La paciencia.
- Un punto flaco tuyo a reconocer?: Tengo nervios.
- Tu plato preferido? (para quien desee invitarte): El strudel: es un postre antiguo del Imperio Austro-hungarés: en aquella época, en cada casa austríaca donde se comía bien se decía que había una cocinera checa . Es como un pastel de hojaldre, con manzana en su interior.
- Un recuerdo de tu vida?: No es muy alegre. Nuestra huida en la primavera de Praga. La huida de mis padres hacia el exilio político a Suiza, para empezar una vida con dos maletas.
- Un lugar de este mundo?: Praga: por todo lo que es (por su belleza arquitectónica, por el río, por la cultura…).
- Un libro?: “Todas las bellezas del mundo”, de Jeroslav Seifert (traducido por una amiga mía que, precisamente, estuvo en mi anterior inauguración aquí).
- Un escritor?: Jaroslav Seifert.
- Del “séptimo arte”: una película?: Prefiero dejarlo para después…
- Una afición?: Esquí alpino.
- Un sueño?: No tengo ningún sueño: en todo caso, que estemos todos felices y con buena salud.
- Qué es el arte?: Para mí -es muy personal- es una manera de definirse, de expresarse, de asumir algunas cosas en mi interior (expresar lo vivido, pero siempre manteniendo la belleza). No me gusta expresar ni la fealdad ni la angustia: no soy dramática.
- Para Platón, la belleza es la llamada de otro mundo para rescatarnos de la caverna donde vivimos: (qué te parece?): Prefiero mantener mi versión sobre la belleza, y lo respondo en la siguiente pregunta.
- Te has encontrado con la Belleza (así, en Mayúscula)?: Sí, muchas veces: prefiero pensar más en la belleza que en la fealdad. Lo positivo es mucho más predominante y es como mi salvación, algo que me estimula, algo que me da equilibrio personal. Es como la razón de vivir.
- Tu maestro?: Admiro profundamente Rocasastre, particularmente por la estructura de sus cuadros.
- Te identificas con alguna escuela de pintura?: Me gusta el impresionismo, pero también admiro a los cubistas. Aunque no me identifico con ellas. Admiro todas las escuelas de pintura: todas ellas aportan cosas nuevas.
- Un pintor que admiras?: Miquel Cabanas Alibau. Me encanta la disposición sobre la tela; el saber perfilar con una línea de color los objetos irregulares…
- Tu primer recuerdo del mundo del arte?: Cuando era joven, cuando comencé los primeros intentos de dibujo: admiré algunos pintores checos de principios del siglo XX: Tichy, Kupka, Schickaneder y otros.
- Tu primera alegría en el arte?: El logro de haber plasmado lo que quería expresar. Cuando era adolescente.
- Tu primera exposición?: En la Casa de la Cultura de Sant Cugat del Vallès, en 1999. Tuve una gran alegría porque la aceptación del público fue enorme.

- Tu color?: Amarillo: transmite luz y alegría.
