“Collserola, our green lung” by Carles Azcón

Collserola, our green lung, invites us to shed the noise of the city. To breathe more slowly, looking up. To recognize the ecological and emotional value of the natural world closest to us. To recognize ourselves in its silent heartbeat. To remember, at last, that beneath the asphalt, the earth is still alive—and that by protecting Collserola, we are protecting ourselves. Because somewhere deep within our souls, a forest still grows.

Here, nature is no longer just a landscape; it is pure essence—a clear reminder that without trees there can be no livable city, no sustainable future.

Azcón paints as one who listens to the forest. His gesture is organic, a layering of matter, forms, and contrasts of blues and greens. His bio-painting unfolds like an ecosystem where textures vibrate, where every brushstroke is energy, and the treetops that trace the sky become air.
