Toni Yll makes his debut at Sala Rusiñol with the exhibition “Heartbeats of the Sea”

Sala Rusiñol has opened “Heartbeats of the Sea”, the first exhibition by Toni Yll at our gallery. The opening attracted a large audience eager to discover firsthand the work of one of the most outstanding contemporary landscape painters on the Catalan art scene..
The event was introduced by Joaquín García Lavernia, who holds a PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences from Abat Oliba CEU University and is a member of the European Council of Doctors and Doctors Honoris Causa. In his opening remarks, he offered an insightful reflection on Toni Yll’s artistic career and the sensitivity conveyed through his work, highlighting the artist’s ability to transform landscape into a deeply emotional experience.

In Heartbeats of the Sea, Toni Yll invites us on a journey along the Mediterranean coast through a collection of landscapes filled with light, colour, and atmosphere. With fresh, expressive brushstrokes, a rich chromatic palette, and a delicate lyrical sensibility, the artist captures the magic of natural settings, transforming them into scenes imbued with serenity, poetry, and memory.
Trained at the Massana School in Barcelona, Toni Yll has built a distinguished artistic career, earning numerous painting awards in national competitions. His work has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions and is part of both public and private collections, establishing him as one of the leading contemporary interpreters of the Mediterranean landscape.
Since its opening, the exhibition has generated great interest among visitors. Yll’s paintings transform light into a language of expression and matter into emotion, while maintaining a profound respect for the Mediterranean landscape tradition through a distinctly contemporary perspective.

Heartbeats of the Sea will be on view at Sala Rusiñol until 28 October.
