Opening “The landscape as a state of mind” by Toni Cassany

On Thursday, March 7, the Sala Rusiñol was packed to the brim. The opening of Toni Cassany’s exhibition, which has the Empordà landscapes as its protagonists, was a great success in attendance.

Friends, clients, family and followers in general were able to enjoy his latest work.

Toni Cassany‘s work is defined, very clearly, in a specific and precise aspect: the treatment of light.

The impact of color is very spectacular, but it does not seek so much the visual spectacle as the emotion transmitted. And that emotion increases when the contrast between shadows and light is achieved. In this matter he has also wanted to find his territory and his pictorial personality. At the same time, it also aims to reach a more realistic, concrete and precise resolution of the first term. This is where he takes the most risks and where he achieves the best of his technique.

The mayor of Sant Cugat, Josep M. Vallès, presided over the event and congratulated the artist for his 35 years interpreting landscapes as a reason for human introspection. He especially highlighted that his is “a realistic painting inspired by the constant changes in the nature of the Empordà. Works full of light, color and emotions”.
