C. Magem opening

Thursday, September 8 has been the day with which we have started the 2022-2023 exhibition season. Carme Magem is the artist with whom we have started the course and the reception has been completely satisfactory.

A large audience (friends, family, customers and members of the Sala Rusiñol Art Club) has gathered around the work of this long-standing artist who, for the first time, is exhibiting in our art gallery.

Ignasi Cabanas has opened the event and has highlighted the great level of work of the artist as well as has welcomed all those present and all those who follow our openings through Instagram.

Next, the writer Imma Cortina has been in charge of delving into the feminine universe of Carme Magem.

Cortina has highlighted the beauty, not only of the faces, but also of the textures, of the manuscripts, of the papers with history that he uses in his compositions. Beyond the technical aspect, he highlights that the first thing that captivated him was the strength of the looks. They are looks that speak of dreams, of thoughts, that transmit serenity, sadness, melancholy… They speak of many feelings and emotions…

And all these looks that make us feel different emotions tell us that there are lives behind these characters.

During her speech, an interesting conversation was established with the artist, who explained that when she decides what the main character of her work will be like, it is very important that there is a link both in terms of the pictorial aspect of the face and the fact that it has a trajectory, an ideology, that it is linked to some personal experience…
