Sala Rusiñol with CARLES CABANAS at the “Lumínic” photography festival
On Thursday, June 9th at 7:00 p.m., the Sala Rusiñol opened the CARLES CABANAS exhibition “Floors” -tiling, mosaics, paving stones- with which it participates in the Lumínic photography festival that has promoted author photography since 2019.
The exhibition was presented by the historian and art critic Imma Pueyo as well as by the directors of the Festival.
In the exhibition you can see a series of 12 photographs in which the artist makes us discover the hidden beauty of the floors. As he himself explains: “Sometimes, the structures of cities, with their load of cement, iron and other elements that make them up, can become heavy, oppressive and even unpleasant. But there are times when walking through its streets, squares, visiting churches, going down stairs or simply going for a walk, if I entertain myself to look at the ground where I pass, they can be seen —with the complicity of lights and shadows, colors, of the drawing of the paving or even of a puddle of rain—a string of shapes, colors and textures that make us discover their hidden beauty and at the same time reconcile us with them.”
A large audience was able to enjoy this collection of photographs that take us to different corners of the world.
The exhibition will remain open to the public, within the usual gallery hours, until July 17, the date on which the festival closes.
