Pintor de les terres de Girona, nogensmenys és “home de món”: un pintor que s’ha fet a ell mateix, que ha viatjat per tot el món, que ha escrit llibres —avui n’hem sortejat un entre els assistents a la inauguració… D’una cosa n’estem certs: sigui com sigui, encara en sentirem parlar molt —i durant temps— del pintor Lluís Roura.
En Josep Mª Cadena ha sintetitzat la figura d’aquest pintor tot dient: «La natura vol assemblar-se als quadres d’en Lluís Roura». Aquesta vegada el pintor ha volgut introduir en els seus quadres un element humà, tot i que no hi veiem persones: hi veiem pobles! En Cadena hi intueix aquí, doncs, una certa intenció social, un sentit d’harmonia civilització-natura. Finalment, el Sr. Cadena —gat vell en el món de l’art— ha assegurat que el “cuquet” per la pintura no desapareixerà de la mà d’en Lluís Roura i «d’alguna manera, no el perdrem com a pintor… Almenys és el que jo desitjo!».
En contrast amb el que sol succeir, en Lluís Roura és un pintor que gaudeix d’una gran desimboltura a l’hora de parlar. Començà tot expressant la seva alegria i agraïment per poder haver vingut a exposar a la Sala Rusiñol… I, ja que la cosa bullia en l’ambient, ens confià els seus plans de futur: «La meva primera exposició va ser a Vic, al desembre del ’69. Aquesta, la que inaugurem avui, seria ja l’última, almenys en aquest format privat. Potser en faré alguna més, però de caire més institucional. Tinc 72 anys i ja tinc edat de jubilar-me. Estic escrivint les meves memòries. En tot cas, continuaré pintant, però a un altre ritme».
“Sóc nascut de la terra, sóc de pagès. De petit i jove vaig fer de pastor i de pagès. Com que a estones m’avorria, vaig començar a pintar els animals que veia: la vaca, el gos… Fins que un dia, un de la família em va dir: —Tu potser podries ser pintor! Jo em pensava que la pintura s’havia acabat amb Velázquez, Goya, etc. Però no!
En contrast amb en Dalí que pintava uns horitzons petits amb un gran cel on hi situava la seva màgia pictòrica, jo pinto un cels petits perquè dono espai als camps, arbres…, els fruits del món que jo vaig viure de petit». La seva intervenció la finí llegint un poema seu —de fa temps— on “pintava” amb paraules una gran descripció del Monestir. Els forts aplaudiments donaren fe de l’impacte que —més enllà de les pintures— causaren les paraules d’en Lluís Roura.
Un interrogant molt interessant va sortir del públic: —«No has tingut interès en crear escola?». Roura respongué que «això m’ho han demanat, però sóc tan lliure…!». El resultat és que sense pretendre fer “escola”, en realitat, ha sorgit una “gran escola” a l’Empordà. De fet, ell sovinteja les escoles dels infants, els parla de pintura i els pinta davant d’ells un quadre. Així reix, si més no, a despertar una inquietud, una sensibilitat per la naturalesa. En una d’aquestes visites un crio —acostumats com estan a sentir parlar dels grans pintors, que ja no viuen— li va dir a la professora: —«Què bé, avui veurem un pintor viu!».

Next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesn’t fail me just as much as this particular one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read, but I actually thought you’d have something interesting to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something you could fix if you were not too busy looking for attention.

After I initially commented I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on whenever a comment is added I get four emails with the same comment. There has to be an easy method you can remove me from that service? Kudos.
