Vernissatge d’en Miquel Cabanas i Alibau (17 desembre 2010)
El vernissatge de l’exposició d’en Miquel Cabanas i Alibau —presidit per l’Alcalde de Sant Cugat— era un dels esdeveniments més esperats dels 25 ANYS de la Sala Rusiñol. Ha estat com un submergir-nos en les nostres arrels familiars i artístiques. La mostra fa palesa la doble faceta de l’homenatjat: pintura i poesia. A la imatge veiem l’autoretrat d’en Miquel Cabanas i el seu fill Ignasi amb un amic de la família.
Aquesta vegada, l’absència del pintor —traspassat l’any 1995— fou emplenada pel seu fill, l’Ignasi Cabanas, director de la Sala Rusiñol. Aquí el veiem entrevistat per en Joseph Hostench per al perfil ràpid “4 anotacions de… l’Ignasi Cabanas”. Rere d’aquest perfil, al llarg dels propers mesos, també us presentarem de prop la resta dels components de la Sala Rusiñol: la Victòria, la Carme, la Sofia i…, finalment, com a convidat especial, el “Perfil gros d’en… Josep Mª Cadena”.
A banda de les seves pròpies obres, l’exposició-homenatge d’en Miquel Cabanas ofereix un al·licient especial: la preparació i el muntatge —del tot enginyós— amb què la família ha disposat la mostra de l’avi Miquel. Per exemple —tal com veiem en aquesta foto— gravats sobre fusta i suportats en uns originals displays de metacrilat, tenim a l’abast una selecció de dibuixos de l’artista.
En primer pla, els dos fills Cabanas: Frederic i Ignasi. Rere apreciem encara uns altres dos elements impressionants del muntatge. A l’esquerra d’ells, emmarcades i distribuïdes a la paret, un conjunt de paletes de colors usades pel pintor. A la paret del fons, a manera de gran mural, un quadre d’en Miquel ampliat fins a ocupar tot l’espai.
L’Ignasi presenta l’exposició del seu pare i en revela alguns detalls. «El meu pare va promoure la Sala Rusiñol. Són 25 anys de galeria; exposem 25 quadres seus. Representen una etapa de la seva vida: des del 19 de març del ’74, data en què patí un ictus. Alhora que el va deixar parcialment impedit —tot i que es va anar recuperant—, l’ictus el va alliberar de les feines quotidianes i es pogué dedicar a pintar i escriure. Primerament usà l’oli, però després es decantà per l’acrílic, perquè li era més pràctic. Era ràpid pintant. Si “veia” la idea, començava i no parava. A vegades, s’oblidava de menjar…».
En Josep Mª Cadena destacà l’esperit, la dedicació i la voluntat de participació que palesa aquesta mostra. Fent un esment de dels membres de la família Cabanas i de l’equip de la galeria, lloà la vitalitat de la Sala Rusiñol: «Això va creixent justament en una època titllada de crisi». I si bé «les coses es fan en un moment donat, és important que després en quedi constància», i això és el que fa l’exposició d’en Miquel Cabanas preparada acuradament per la seva pròpia família. «Senyor Alcalde: en aquests 25 anys, Sant Cugat ha guanyat!».
Frederic Cabanas ens exposà l’estat del projecte de la Fundació i Museu Cabanas que acollirà una exposició permanent d’en Miquel Cabanas i altres activitats. «Jo ja n’havia parlat amb el pare: sense ell no hauria estat possible aquest projecte». Fa anys que varen començar les obres de rehabilitació de l’edifici modernista que serà la seu d’aquest espai cultural (al costat de la Sala Rusiñol). Semblava que tot aniria ràpid, però… finalment, la data proposada per a la inauguració del museu és l’onze de l’onze del dos mil onze!
L’Honorable Sr. Lluís Recoder i Miralles —com Alcalde que encara n’era de la ciutat— va voler retre homenatge a la Sala Rusiñol: «S’ha dit de Sant Cugat que és terra d’artistes. Té moltes galeries d’art! La Sala Rusiñol és especial pel seu dinamisme (…). Aquesta exposició està molt bé. Primer, pel pintor, Miquel Cabanas, del qual tenim un quadre a l’Alcaldia (…). Segon: veient com heu preparat l’exposició de l’avi, es nota que aquesta família té continuïtat. Tercer: la Sala té una línea definida, uns pintors de gran qualitat i molt fidels, i un públic molt i molt fidel que transcendeix la simple relació galerista-client: és una relació molt amistosa i propera».
L’Honorable Sr. Recoder ens garantí la seva assistència —ja l’hem convidat!— el dia 13 de maig del 2011, en la celebració dels 25 anys de la Sala. «Però, per si un cas no hi pogués venir, ara ja us deixo un record: des de l’Ajuntament us regalem un tros de la nostra joia, que és el Monestir. No podem regalar pedres del Monestir, però si que us podem regalar un “capitell” amb aquesta dedicatòria: Pels vostres 25 anys i per aquesta llarga travessia (dat a Sant Cugat, el 17 de desembre del 2010)».MÉS FOTOS DEL VERNISSATGE
