Jaume Laporta torna a la Sala Rusiñol amb la col·lecció “Llegint la realitat”. Ell és un dels primers pintors que ha exposat a la nostra Sala. Posteriorment, ho ha fet en successives ocasions. Tant és així que l’Ignasi Cabanas, director de la Sala, ens l’ha presentat tot afirmant: «Hem crescut junts».
L’artista, bo i atenent les preguntes per al perfil “4 anotacions de… Laporta”, ens fa palesa una apassionant trajectòria. Inconformista amb els cànons imposats, evolucionà des d’un inicial abstraccionisme envers una valenta aposta per la figuració, quan aquesta no era ben vista a casa nostra. «No estic en contra de la no-figuració, l’abstracció; sóc contrari als cànons».
Un cop més, en Cadena es declarà “vell amic” del pintor i traçà un ràpid esbós del camí artístic d’en Laporta. «És un figuratiu que pensa i que vol expressar allò que hi ha a l’interior de les coses. Descriure una barca no és solament descriure una barca… És moltes coses més! Aquí hi entra també el que ens plantegem internament».
És el torn del pintor: «Figuració o no figuració! Heus aquí la dicotomia, aquest conflicte que ens ha tocat viure als qui ara tenim 70 anys, amb la impressió que això no era just (…). Havia la idea que fugir de la figuració significava d’alguna manera transgredir el tradicional i recuperar allò sintètic, és a dir, arribar a la veritat. Aquesta “dogmatització” m’ha generat un sofriment que no deixo de manifestar. Reivindico la llibertat del pintor per a expressar-se tal com ell creu!».
«Jo vaig començar amb l’abstracció. En Cadena coneix com vaig recuperar la figuració: un llenguatge que era el meu —no perquè fos millor, sinó perquè era el meu. Retrobava quelcom que havia deixat. Però, alhora, amb la contradicció de passar a ser un pintor del “sector comercial”: —Això ja està molt vist; la fotografia ja ho ha superat tot… Però la realitat és “no-reproduïble”: el pintor copsa la realitat, queda impressionat per ella i, aleshores, de la seva personalitat surt allò que ell és. Nosaltres pensem coses que no surten a la fotografia, però sí a la pintura…».
