Gaudim del retorn d’en Josep Domènech i Sánchez a la Sala Rusiñol. Des del 2014 que trobàvem a faltar el rostre amable d’aquest pintor. No és sorprenent el nombrós grup de persones que l’han volgut acompanyar en aquesta inauguració. No solament ell, sinó també la seva obra —que respira quietud i placidesa— atrau els nostres esperits.
En Josep Mª Cadena ha fet gala de llur veterana amistat (des de fa 20 anys). Quan ell parla d’en Domènech i Sánchez sap molt bé de qui parla: «És un veritable goig trobar-se novament amb una obra tan sensible, emocionalment autèntica i lliurada a transmetre la bellesa interior dels sentiments humans»..
El crític d’art entra en matèria: «Les seves obres neixen de la “boira”, com quan nosaltres naixem: no hi veiem, però sí experimentem la sensació d’haver-hi una persona que ens estima, que ens acull… La criatura no sap res, però se sent protegida; sent que algú l’estima. És el que busca en Domènech i Sánchez!».
Després d’expressar el seu agraïment, el pintor ha atès algunes preguntes. Una d’elles va de les noves incorporacions a la seva temàtica. Entre altres, ens explica que, a més dels silencis, intenta incorporar enigmes, com per exemple els rellotges sense agulles que interposa en algunes de les figures. Enigmes que resten oberts a la interpretació de cadascú: “El poema es de quien lo lee”, ens ha dit.
En Josep ha canviat d’estudi, d’ofici (ve del món del treball de la fusta…). —«Què ha suposat això per a la teva vida pictòrica». —«M’he “jubilat” la qual cosa significa llibertat d’actuació. Certes circumstàncies m’han fet canviar: sóc el mateix, però he pogut introduir investigació i renovació».
