• Tu? (nom, naixença i el que vulguis): Juan Antonio Tenorio Pérez. Vaig néixer a Utrera, el 1960. Però fa 50 anys que visc a Sant Andreu de la Barca. Sóc fill d’una família treballadora del Baix Llobregat; fill de manyà: conec l’ofici, el meu pare m’ensenyà a treballar el sector del ferro. Aquests orígens poden explicar, en certa manera, les formes estructurals de la meva pintura (els ponts metàl·lics…).
• Una virtut teva a destacar?: Crec que sóc perseverant. No sabia pintar ni dibuixar, però al final he reeixit quelcom…
• Un punt feble teu a reconèixer?: Tímid. Ara, amb l’edat, ja m’he espavilat un xic. En les primeres exposicions, al començament, no sabia què dir…
• El teu plat preferit? (per a qui desitgi convidar-te): La paella que fa la meva sogra és insuperable.
• Un record de la teva vida?: Quan nasqué el meu primer fill. Jo era molt jove encara: això em marcà molt. Tinc tres fills: cada un d’ells m’ha alegrat la vida, però el primer és quelcom especial.
• Un rècord en la teva vida? (pregunta afegida per suggeriment del pintor Román Francés): Guanyar un premi amb 20 minuts de treball. Va ser al Poble Espanyol de Barcelona. Em varen cridar de casa per anar a reparar una peça d’una màquina. Vaig haver de deixar el concurs. El vaig deixar tal com estava i li vaig demanar al meu amic Mateo que ho anés a recollir. Al dia següent… resultava que m’havien atorgat el segon premi: em digueren que era una obra molt espontània.
• Un lloc d’aquest món?: Ho tinc claríssim. M’agrada molt l’arquitectura: m’impressiona molt el temple de la Sagrada Família, veient l’arquitectura d’en Gaudí. És un lloc en el que jo hi vull ser-hi. He recorregut tot el món, però crec que el meu lloc és a Barcelona i a la Sagrada Família.
• Un llibre?: “Donde la ciudad cambia su nombre”, d’un bon amic ja traspassat: en Paco Candel.
• Un escriptor?: Paco Candel.
• Del “setè art”: una pel·lícula?: Procuro veure-la cada sis mesos: “El Padrino”. Surt en alguns dels quadres que ara exposo.
• Una afició?: Si no pintés, m’agrada molt la jardineria. Seria un ofici que jo exerciria amb gust. A casa tenim una parra; quan arriba el bon temps, floreix, la deixo créixer, fa l’efecte d’un hivernacle… un entorn molt adient per al meu esperit.
• Un somni?: Sóc una persona força feliç: m’agrada com, on i amb qui visc. Crec que el “somni” ja el tinc. Podria demanar un cotxe nou, però… què més puc desitjar?
• Què és l’art?: Una qüestió que forma part de l’ésser humà: manifestació de la grandesa que té l’ésser humà. Totes les persones tenen art. És una característica, una peculiaritat de l’ésser humà.
• Per a Plató, la bellesa és la crida d’un altre món per a rescatar-nos de la caverna on vivim (què et sembla?): Bé…, però com que sóc optimista per naturalesa, aquest món —malgrat les seves dificultats— em sembla meravellós; no el veig com una caverna. Pot ser que hi hagi una crida de l’altre món.
• T’has trobat amb la Bellesa (així, amb Majúscula)?: Bé, és una altra pregunta de l’estil de l’art… Acostumo a visitar la meva mare amb freqüència…
• El teu mestre?: No tinc un mestre definit. M’agraden molts artistes. Mestres meus ho poden ser des de l’amic meu en Mateo fins a Leonardo da Vinci. Si hagués d’escollir un: Leonardo da Vinci: de fet, apareix en alguns dels meus quadres: la seva cara i el seu treball).
• T’identifiques amb alguna escola de pintura?: M’agraden moltes. M’incloc dins de la pintura figurativa realista.
• Un pintor a qui admires?: Pablo Picasso.
• El teu primer record del món de l’art?: El tinc fresc: un concurs de pintura ràpida a Sant Andreu de la Barca. Tenia 8 anys.
• La teva primera alegria en l’art?: La primera vegada que vaig guanyar un premi. Era a Manresa: la Festa de la Llum. Tenia uns 22 anys (era cap el ’81). Estava fent la mili, vaig aprofitar un permís… Era un concurs de pintura ràpida.
• La teva primera exposició?: A la sala Sennacheribbo, a Barcelona.
• El teu estil?: Figuratiu realista. Amb molt de concepte que hi afegeix el collage. Imatges, visions, és el mentor intercalat a l’escena: l’esperit.
• El teu color?: Vermell. Abunda l’ocre, però sempre, sempre apareix el vermell.
• El teu tema?: Urbà.
• Ens dius quelcom més? (el que vulguis del que vulguis): Tot el que he dit és absolutament veritat.
