• Un punt feble teu a reconèixer?: Quan deixo de ser educat, sóc exageradament explosiu.
• El teu plat preferit? (per a qui desitgi convidar-te): Trinxat de la Cerdanya.
• Un record de la teva vida?: Ara que no tinc els meus pares, recordo la calidesa que em van arribar a donar.
• Un rècord en la teva vida? (pregunta afegida per suggeriment del pintor Román Francés): Durant un temps, rècord de Catalunya de 400 metres llisos en atletisme.
• Un lloc d’aquest món?: Venècia, sens dubte.
• Un llibre?: Destacaré una temàtica. És fàcil, tenint un fill menut a casa: com educar-lo. La meva literatura des de fa 4 anys va relacionada amb això.

• Del “setè art”: una pel·lícula?: Només podria dir pel·lícules de nen petit… Depèn també del dia: des d’Indiana Jones a “Los puentes de Madison”. Necessito la meva part de nen petit vigent, que no l’hem de perdre mai. No m’agraden les pel·lícules bèl·liques.
• Una afició?: El caminar.
• Un somni?: Alguns: ara mateix, a hores d’ara, ser el millor pare pel meu fill.
• Què és l’art?: Per a mi és una altra manera de parlar: una manera de dialogar, primer amb mi mateix i després amb els altres.
• Per a Plató, la bellesa és la crida d’un altre món per a rescatar-nos de la caverna on vivim (què et sembla?): Totalment d’acord! La bellesa és el lloc on ens podem refugiar tots; és el màxim exponent de la creació. Ho engloba casi tot. Però no té perquè ser “bellesa maca”.
• T’has trobat amb la Bellesa (així, amb Majúscula)?: Oh, i tant! Molts cops en la vida! Començant per l’entorn més proper de la meva infantesa i acabant amb el naixement del meu fill: no hi ha paraules per a descriure-ho! Quan em van dir que tenir un fill era quelcom molt especial, no vaig saber-ho realment fins que el vaig tenir. Una posta de sol és “monumentalment bèstia”, però el fill —tot i ser tan petit— és descomunal!
• El teu mestre?: El meu pare: perquè parlava molt poc, però m’agafava de la mà i em portava per tot arreu. Em deixava espais per a pensar: podia fer-ho perquè no hi havia sorolls. Necessitem espais de soledat per a trobar-nos!
• T’identifiques amb alguna escola de pintura?: A hores d’ara, crec que casi tot està fet, però poc explicat. La pintura ha d’explicar sempre quelcom. El simbolisme i el segle XIX m’han atret especialment, encara que expliquessin por, vergonya, solitud…
• Un pintor a qui admires?: Són molts… Admiro èpoques: com ja he dit, el simbolisme i segle XIX. Ja de petit no m’agradava mitificar una persona, sinó conèixer-la: saber no el que es veu “pel davant”, sinó “al darrera”…
• El teu primer record del món de l’art?: Una exposició que vaig veure del Sr. Puigdengoles, a la Sala Parés.
• La teva primera alegria en l’art?: La meva primera exposició em va donar una doble alegria. D’entrada, el galerista em va dir «anirem malament si pintes així»… Però vaig vendre el 75% de l’exposició i em vaig poder riure d’ell. Tinc una casa petitona en un poble de Osca: allí he viscut sortides i postes de sol. És el que a mi m’exalta. A cada exposició faig un o dos paisatges de dia, i la resta de les pintures les faig amb contrallums de posta o sortida del sol. La llum és el tot, no el tema.
• La teva primera exposició?: A Sabadell, a la Galeria Cau d’Art.
• El teu estil?: El meu estil és pintar el que m’entusiasme. Posar-hi etiqueta al meu estil seria insultar-me a mi mateix.
• El teu color?: Tots els colors quan es fa fosc, perquè tots hi segueixen sent, però diferents.
• El teu tema?: La natura: urbans o rurals; els exteriors.
• Ens dius quelcom més? (el que vulguis del que vulguis): Que la meva recerca en la pintura i en la vida és ser feliç amb els meus i amb mi mateix. Aquí hi pren part molt important el naixement del meu fill i la convivència amb la meva parella.
