<\/strong> <\/strong> <\/strong> <\/strong>\"\"<\/a>Andreu Fresquet<\/strong> is an artist who transmits vitality. Today he is introducing \u201cRhythms, Movement and Atmosphere\u201d<\/a>, a work full of these three elements. They are a clear sign of a way of working, of a style that has become his own and that takes us into a world of pictures, music, fruit, porcelains and, also, chess. <\/strong><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/strong>\"\"<\/a>Ignasi\u00a0\u00a0 Cabanas<\/strong>,\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 Rusi\u00f1ol\u00a0\u00a0 Gallery\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0 director,\u00a0\u00a0 was\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 first\u00a0\u00a0 speaker.\u00a0\u00a0 While going down a historical memory lane, he remembers that the first exhibition of Andreu Fresquet\u00a0 in that\u00a0 Gallery\u00a0 was\u00a0 on the\u00a0 7th\u00a0 of June\u00a0 1992 (that\u00a0 is, 21 years ago!). Cabanas predicts a greater success for this occasion. We are in front of the work of a great painter, with whom we are closing the exhibition season 2012-2013. \u201cWe will take a break for summer and start again on the 6th of September\u201d.<\/div>\n
<\/strong>\"\"<\/a>Josep M. Cadena<\/strong>: \u201cHe is an artist who, from the very beginning, thought about using\u00a0\u00a0 plastic.\u00a0\u00a0 He\u00a0\u00a0 used\u00a0\u00a0 it\u00a0\u00a0 under\u00a0\u00a0 historical\u00a0\u00a0 circumstances\u00a0\u00a0 which\u00a0\u00a0 allowed\u00a0\u00a0 him\u00a0\u00a0 to express many things while seeming as if he wasn\u2019t saying anything. Those things were the “rhythm” of life, the “movement” within the very interior of the persons, and\u00a0\u00a0 were\u00a0\u00a0 \u2014above\u00a0\u00a0 all\u2014\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 “atmospheres”\u00a0 that\u00a0\u00a0 exist\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 a\u00a0\u00a0 society.\u00a0 These\u00a0\u00a0 three words\u00a0\u00a0 are\u00a0\u00a0 present\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 invitation\u00a0\u00a0 card\u00a0\u00a0 of\u00a0\u00a0 this\u00a0\u00a0 exhibition:\u00a0\u00a0 they\u00a0\u00a0 define\u00a0\u00a0 the background of his painting. We also see it in the wrapping paper in the showcase, under\u00a0\u00a0 this\u00a0\u00a0 picture\u00a0\u00a0 with\u00a0\u00a0 this\u00a0\u00a0 movement,\u00a0\u00a0 with\u00a0\u00a0 this\u00a0\u00a0 rhythm,\u00a0\u00a0 which\u00a0\u00a0 reflects\u00a0\u00a0 the rebellious\u00a0\u00a0 man.\u00a0 It\u00a0\u00a0 is\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 man\u00a0 who\u00a0\u00a0 is\u00a0\u00a0 not\u00a0\u00a0 carried\u00a0\u00a0 away\u00a0\u00a0 by\u00a0\u00a0 circumstances,\u00a0\u00a0 even though the circumstances are affecting the whole world\u201d.<\/div>\n
<\/strong><\/strong> <\/strong>\"\"<\/a>The art critic, Mr. Cadena goes on to say, that \u201cJordi is an example of struggle. He was living in Paris in May 68. He had the desire of saying: \u201cWe must move forward\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 And\u00a0\u00a0 now\u00a0\u00a0 he\u00a0\u00a0 is\u00a0\u00a0 also\u00a0\u00a0 saying\u00a0\u00a0 it\u00a0\u00a0 through\u00a0\u00a0 his\u00a0\u00a0 work,\u00a0\u00a0 where\u00a0\u00a0 everything\u00a0\u00a0 is flying, including chessboards, which are a metaphor of our society itself. It is aboard and we are the peons and the figures”.<\/div>\n

<\/strong> <\/strong> <\/strong>\"\"<\/a>Finally, the artist says: “I am very excited. Thanks to my friends and to all the people who have come here. Also thanks to Mr. Cadena, who knows me very well and thanks\u00a0 to\u00a0 my\u00a0 family\u201d. Then\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 attendees\u00a0 asked\u00a0 some\u00a0\u00a0 questions\u00a0 about\u00a0\u00a0 his work\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 Andreu\u00a0\u00a0 Fresquet\u00a0\u00a0 answered\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 relaxed\u00a0\u00a0 atmosphere\u00a0\u00a0 tha characterizes him.<\/p>\n
