November 4th<\/sup>, at dusk<\/strong>: lots of rain in the street and many flowers \u2014Montserrat Masdeu’s work<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u2014 at the Rusi\u00f1ol Gallery: gardens, large greenhouses, facades with flower pots, in large and small sizes, and all sorts of colors\u2026 Neither rain these flowers need \u2014although we can almost smell them\u2014 nor the friends we expected at the inauguration. The flowers did better, and so did the art of this artist: we, the friends, simply were there. <\/strong><\/div>\n

<\/a>\"\"<\/a>Montserrat was introduced as what she actually means for the Rusi\u00f1ol Gallery: another member of the family. Ignasi Cabanas described the itinerary of the painter in our Gallery: \u00abtoday we have the result, as a third step! of the work carried out by Masdeu\u00bb. In 2002 she came with the collection “Of gardens and cities”<\/em><\/strong>; in 2005 it was “Journey to the Islands”<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>. After that, she has lived many adventures which have postponed for six years the present exhibition: “Recreating gardens and travels”<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>, with which – somehow \u2013 she culminates this trilogy.<\/div>\n
<\/a>\"\"<\/a> <\/strong>Josep M\u00aa<\/strong> Cadena has discovered something more of the background of the trajectory of this painter: \u00abMontserrat\u2019s “Adventures” \u2014which Ignasi mentioned\u2014, let me put it clearly, have rather been “ventures”. She is a mother… and a grandmother of her daughters\u2019 daughters, and she is dedicated to her family\u2026 This is good. And, although for a while she has not painted, Montserrat has continued thinking. She has also traveled, like everyone else; luggage also travels\u2026 But Montserrat is interested in things, she gets to know other cities, she draws, takes notes and, when she returns to her studio, she works at it\u00bb.<\/div>\n
<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> In 2005, Montserrat Maseu’s exhibition<\/strong> was presented by our longed Francesc Gal\u00ed: that was his latest intervention at the Rusi\u00f1ol Gallery. Because of it, Montserrat, after a few words of gratefulness, added: \u00abI would to have a memory for Francesc Gal\u00ed<\/strong>, because thanks to him today I am here. At any one time of my life, I had doubts about continuing my activity, and he said to me: \u2014”What do you mean? You never stop doing”<\/em>, and it encouraged me, and because of it I have come up to where I have come\u00bb.<\/div>\n
