We have enjoyed the “Arriba y Abajo”<\/em><\/strong> (Up and Down<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>) of Tom\u00e0s Su\u00f1ol<\/strong>\u2019s figurative abstraction<\/em>. \u201cUp\u201d (as a subtle abstraction<\/em>) towards memories each one retrieves. \u201cDown\u201d (by a successful figurative<\/em> performance) because these sensations are suggested \u2014 distinctly and mostly\u2014 from urban corners \u201cexperienced\u201d by the artist. Interesting experience! If “a picture is worth a thousand words “, in this case “a visit is worth more than a thousand pictures”<\/em>\u2026<\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>It is the moment of truth, the moment of “The 4 entries from\u2026 Tom\u00e0s Su\u00f1ol”<\/em><\/strong>. Thus, in this more intimate space, Tom\u00e0s protects himself and claims not to feel contented with the given label: figurative abstraction<\/em>. \u00abFine arts and painting are meant to set you free but, if you get boxed in by standardization, then art loses its charisma\u00bb. \u2014Your style?<\/strong> \u00abI do not think it is up to the artists to categorize themselves. There are others to do it!\u00bb.<\/div>\n
\"\"<\/a> Any detail can be used as a trigger for \u201creading\u201d Josep M\u00aa Cadena<\/strong>: \u00abTom\u00e0s! Thomas is the name of one of the apostles. An apostle that has not been well rated by history, because he doubted, and did not believe Jesus had resurrected until he was able to touch Jesus\u2019 wounds. But this is a virtue. The artist must question the circumstance he is living by! He must look for whatever may help him: perhaps others\u2019 feelings\u2026\u00bb. As a matter of fact, Su\u00f1ol\u2019s work is exposed to the observer\u2019s perception: each painting has something to communicate to each onlooker.<\/div>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> Josep M\u00aa Cadena<\/strong>: \u00abAs Cabanas have said, this is the first time Tom\u00e0s Su\u00f1ol comes to our Gallery. But it is not the first time he paints. His father is also a painter! He has always lived amongst paintings and this helps developing people. He paints by identifying things for what they are, for what they represent and for the sensations they produce (\u2026). These bursts of light are the painter\u2019s and with them he creates shapes\u00bb.<\/div>\n
\"\"<\/a>As usual, at the Rusi\u00f1ol Gallery \u2014after listening to the artist\u2014 the audience had their opportunity, too. It did not take long for the questioning and with frank spontaneity \u2014on both sides\u2014 it was pointed out what the exhibited works suggested. In short, it is a painting that pleases because it queries: these alleys, these burst of light, and these shadows\u2026 they bring memories to each one of us and awaken our feelings. <\/span> <\/span><\/div>\n
\"\"<\/a>The raffle of Tom\u00e0s Su\u00f1ol\u2019s art note. Miquel, an artist\u2019s friend, was the fortunate one to get it. Comments about this art note were immediate: \u00abIt came from Badalona and it goes back to Badalona\u00bb.<\/div>\n
