“The secrets colours of Pi d’en Xandri” by Carles Azcón

On Thursday 27 March, the Sala Rusiñol inaugurated the exhibition by the artist Carles Azcón, dedicated to the Pi d’en Xandri, which on 17 March the Generalitat declared a Monumental Tree of Catalonia.
With this exhibition, Carles Azcón pays tribute to one of Sant Cugat’s most beloved natural symbols through a series of paintings that capture the essence and history of this monumental pine tree. The exhibition offers an experience where art and nature meet to raise public awareness of the importance of the natural heritage of Sant Cugat.
Domènec Miquel, a historian of recognised prestige and a great specialist in the history surrounding this emblematic tree, was in charge of presenting the event.
Here you can follow the whole presentation with comments from Domènech Miquel, Carles Azcón and Jordi Puigneró, Deputy Mayor for Institutional Relations, Good Governance and Digital City, representing Sant Cugat City Council.
A large audience was present at the inauguration where it was also announced that a tree planting open to the public will take place on Saturday 29 March at 12 noon in Can Vernet Park, in the middle of Sant Cugat.

This is the news published by TV Sant Cugat in reference to these events.
During the exhibition there will also be a board where visitors can write down their experiences, anecdotes, memories, reflections… about this centenary pine tree, making their voice part of this experience.

In addition, the exhibition includes a special activity for children: the artist will accompany the youngest visitors (accompanied by their parents) on a guided tour of the Sala Rusiñol where they can make drawings inspired by the Pi d’en Xandri.
We encourage you to visit the exhibition until 6 May.
