Opening”Life in colors” by Pere Lluís León

Last Thursday, January 9, we inaugurated the first exhibition of the new year that we have just started.

On this occasion we have presented an artist who, for the first time, is exhibiting at Sala Rusiñol. This is Pere Lluís León, an artist whose color, in his works, not only defines the composition, but transmits a unique dynamism. He often uses vibrant colors, creating intense contrasts or delicate transitions that capture the viewer’s attention. Hence the title of the exhibition “Life in colors”.

Ignasi Cabanas, director of Sala Rusiñol, was in charge of presenting it both to those attending the gallery and to those who followed the inauguration live via Instagram. Framing Pere Lluís León is an arduous task; clearly tinged with Cubist influences, we are dealing with a unique artist whose original works spectacularly infuse color into our Mediterranean lives, distilling extroversion and spilling symbolism and criticism.

In addition to his pictorial work, Pere Lluís León is a visual communicator specializing in biomedicine, creating medical illustrations and interactive projects that have been used by hospitals and medical schools around the world. For this reason, cardiologist Dr. Josep Guindo Soldevila was the person in charge of talking to us about the artist from another point of view and even showed a medical book with his illustrations.

After the presentation, the audience enjoyed the works on display. With a bold palette and dynamic style, Pere Lluís León explores themes such as nature, human relationships and spiritual connection.

Here is the full presentation, which you can also see on our Instagram and YouTube.
