Opening “The innocence of the sea” by Alicia Grau
Last Thursday we opened the Alicia Grau exhibition. This is the third individual exhibition of the artist that we present in our art gallery.
Unfortunately, for health reasons, Alicia could not accompany us, so the gallery director, Ignasi Cabanas, and the artist Katerina Alavedra-Duchoslav, were in charge of presenting the event.
It should be noted that Katerina made an excellent comment on the work presented by Alicia, an exhaustive analysis from a technical and creative point of view that did not leave the attendees indifferent. For this reason, here we leave you the video of the inauguration (in Catalan) that we believe serves to provide a new vision of this collection.
Let us remember that Alicia Grau began her artistic training at the School of Arts and Crafts at an early age. Upon graduation, she began her professional career. Since then he has managed to create an artistic current among the artists of his generation and his work is spread all over the world.
His style has been defined by art critics as unmistakable due to his drawing technique, his measured use of pigments, which gives compact solidity to the textures of his canvases. His impressionist painting and his work are formed with a meticulous construction based on successive layers of color. He also has the innate ability to capture human spontaneity through his portraits. Children’s themes are one of his strengths, which together with still lifes and urban scenes highlight his sensitivity to small details.
For more than twenty years, he has had a large number of personal exhibitions in most European and US capitals. His art has been recognized with numerous international awards and recognitions, his work being part of private and public art collections. Currently, he divides his working time between his hometown and Florence, in Italy.
Here we leave some moments of the inauguration. Remember that the exhibition can be visited until next Tuesday, May 11th.
