Alicia Grau presents “The innocence of the sea”
Next Thursday the 13th at 7:00 p.m. you are invited to the opening. The exhibition will be presented by the artist Katerina Alavedra-Duchoslav
Alícia Grau (Barcelona, 1955) began her artistic training by attending the School of Arts and Crafts at an early age. Once graduated, she began her professional career. Since then he has managed to create an artistic current among the artists of his generation and his work is spread all over the world.
His style has been defined by art critics as unmistakable due to his drawing technique and his measured use of pigments that give compact solidity to the textures of his canvases. His impressionist painting and his work are formed by a meticulous construction based on successive layers of color. He also has the innate ability to capture human spontaneity through his portraits. Children’s themes are one of his strengths which, along with still lifes and urban scenes, highlight his sensitivity to small details.
Alicia Grau has the difficult facility to pictorially capture human spontaneity. She has chosen the children’s world, the one in which boys and girls usually express the feelings that are born to them, those that are new to them and that surprise them as they experience them. And he always seeks to highlight positive feelings, those that lead to the exaltation of the virtues of personalities in formation. Thus, in his work he captures the redoubt of primary innocence where emotion is shared and pleasantly transmitted, and he does so by revealing his enthusiasm for the truth in all human action, painting boys and girls in their most natural actions, capturing their most spontaneous movements..
