Opening Casademont -le vieux- Centenary (1923-2023)

On Thursday 16th March we inaugurated the exhibition with which we wanted to pay homage to Casademont -le vieux- on the centenary of his birth.

The great reception of the public on the opening day shows that the artist left a great mark and his exhibited works allowed the attendees to discover his latest work where the oil paintings of the counties of Girona stand out with ordered compositions and resolved with soft colours and slightly blurred outlines.

We counted with the presence of the Councillor of Culture of the Sant Cugat City Council, Mrs. Esther Madrona, and the artist Sergi Barnils, disciple and great friend of Casademont.

The Councillor for Culture stressed the importance of being able to show in Sant Cugat the work of this international artist who was closely linked to our city where he lived for twenty years. She also wanted to stress that she was very impressed with the works on display, as they conveyed an immense serenity.

For his part, Sergi Barnils spoke to us about the artist’s more personal and human side. He highlighted Casademont’s spirituality, a man of faith, which is clearly reflected in the atmospheres of his works.
