Vernissatge de Vives Fierro (7 febrer 2014)
Els Ninhos són la conseqüència de la meva trajectòria durant 50 anys de pintura. No he canviat ni en la pinzellada ni en l’ús de la tècnica del collage. Pel que fa a la temàtica, tampoc és nova per mi ja que als anys 60 ja feia pallassos i nines. He viatjat molt perquè m’agraden molt les ciutats i les he pintat moltíssim però era una mica esclau del tema. Pintant ciutats no tenia la llibertat que tinc amb els Ninhos ja que amb ells puc expressar el que tinc a dins.
Ignasi Cabanas inicia la presentació d’aquesta nova obra que no deixa indiferent a ningú. Comenta als assistents que en Vives Fierro ha exposat en nombroses ocasions a la Sala Rusiñol i sempre sorprèn amb les seves creacions. Tot seguit cedeix la paraula al crític d’art.
Josep M. Cadena: Toni Vives Fierro és un clàssic. Un clàssic en el sentit profund de la paraula llatina que significa trompeta, això és, “el que crida a la gent”.
Vives Fierro té una manera de dir, un estil, que ha anat canviant al llarg dels anys. Durant molt de temps ha pintat ciutats de les quals no només ha captat el seu aspecte exterior sinó la mobilitat, el moviment de les persones. Això l’ha portat a aportar sempre quelcom nou tot i ser el mateix.
Continua en Cadena: Quan érem nens ho vam aprendre tot, érem com esponges. No sabíem distingir el que estava bé o no. Vives Fierro fa uns nens que pensen pel seu compte, com la gent adulta, però amb la ingenuïtat de creure en la música, en el ball… Nosaltres hem estat aquests nens que ens ensenyen que hem de creure en els éssers humans, en la ingenuïtat; creure en els valors essencials, que sempre són els mateixos. En els seus quadres hi ha la sinceritat de la persona.
Per concloure l’acte es dóna pas al torn de preguntes. En sorgiren de diverses, així com el comentari del Dr. Uriach, gran col·leccionista d’art: “Els que tenim obra teva de fa molts anys, veiem clarament la teva continuïtat. Quan pintaves ciutats captaves a la perfecció les llums, no només de la ciutat, sinó també dels barris de les ciutats. Aquests Ninhos que ara pintes els hauria reconegut clarament com teus sense veure la teva firma i això és molt important en pintura. La teva obra sempre té un fil conductor. Et felicito”.
