  • Tú? (nombre, nacimiento y lo que quieras): Miquel Torrecilla Capellas. Nací el 25 de agosto de 1947, en Sabadell. Mis padres eran comerciantes, pero mis inclinaciones iban por el arte: “ensuciar paredes”, en este momento. Tengo mujer, Blaia. Tenemos 3 hijos: Paul, Oriol y Marc.
  • Una virtud tuya a destacar?: Soy un buen grumete. Amor a la pintura y al arte.
  • Un punto flaco tuyo a reconocer?: Soy muy confiado. Falta de picardía [su mujer dice que no está de acuerdo]. Soy como una “casa sin puertas”.
  • Tu plato preferido? (para quien desee invitarte): Pollo a la miel (que me prepara mi mujer).
  • Un recuerdo de tu vida?: Mi abuela.
  • Un lugar de este mundo?: Cualquier sitio en el que haya naturaleza: el campo. La naturaleza es mi catedral: es donde me siento libre de espíritu, de pensamiento…
  • Un libro?: Leo libros relacionados con el arte. Si tengo que destacar uno: la biografía de Sir Laurens Alma-Tadema (1836 – 1912), pintor neerlandés de la época victoriana; representó muy bien la Roma antigua.
  • Un escritor?: —
  • Del “séptimo arte”: una película?: “Ven-Hur”.
  • Una afición?: La plástica. Tengo muchas más: deporte, esquí, artes marciales (taekuondo). Durante una época hice inmersión.
  • Un sueño?: Que haya comunicación fluida entre las personas. En mi pintura, me ha motivado mucho la convivencia que vemos en la naturaleza…53-torrecilla
  • Qué es el arte?: La manifestación de mi interior (muy particular en mi caso). Pero el arte tiene muchas vertientes. Forma parte de nuestro ser.
  • Para Platón, la belleza es la llamada de otro mundo para rescatarnos de la caverna donde vivimos: (qué te parece?): Me parece bien, tal como entiendo yo el arte. Es lo mismo de antes: es bella la contemplación de lo que nos motiva en nuestra visión interior, y que la vista exterior no nos deja ver. Por ahí llegamos a valorar esta belleza. Para mí es un sentimiento. Las ramas, a veces, no nos dejan ver el bosque. Se trata de manifestar lo que realmente veo y que a través de su representación el observador pueda hacerlo suyo. Un sentimiento abstracto no se puede figurar, pero sí que se puede manifestar con el arte.
  • Te has encontrado con la Belleza (así, en Mayúscula)?: Sí. Un estallido de “pleniestado” (plenitud de ser): por ejemplo, una puesta del sol, o la salida del sol, un arco iris…
  • Tu maestro?: He tenido varios: Gubern (otro pintor enamorado de la naturaleza); Rallo, en las escuelas Pías. También Jaume Mercader, que fue quien me motivó para la pintura: nos conocimos de un modo muy surrealista: sin querer, desde el balcón de mi casa le eché un cubo de agua, y mi padre me envió a su casa para pedirle perdón. Allí quedé admirado de su pintura.
  • Te identificas con alguna escuela de pintura?: No he querido caer en eso. Me gustan algunas, pero no he querido identificarme con ninguna de ellas. La escuela olotina me gusta mucho. Tiendo a ser autodidacta. En mis inicios, cuando dependía de algún maestro, empecé pintar sin expresar lo que yo sentía… y me tuve que desmarcar.
  • Un pintor que admiras?: Sir Laurens Alma-Tadema, no por lo que dice, sino por la forma de explicarlo.
  • Tu primer recuerdo del mundo del arte?: Una iglesia que pinté en un cuadro: era una de las iglesias de Taüll. Yo era muy pequeño: 9 años.
  • Tu primera alegría en el arte?: Cuando hice la Primera Comunión: aquel mismo día, participé en un concurso de pintura y lo gané.55-torrecilla
  • Tu primera exposición?: Una colectiva, en Barcelona, en la Galería Matisse. Después en la Subex Galeria d’Art tuve la primera exposición individual…
  • Tu estilo?: Realista, naturalista (no hiperrealista). Figuración a partir de pequeña mancha.
  • Tu color?: El verde. Y los tostados.
  • Tu tema?: La naturaleza, pura y dura.
