Vernissatge de la Mònica Castanys (4 setembre 2009)
El proppassat 4 de setembre, la Mònica Castanys, amb el títol “Instants quotidiens”, obrí el curs d’exposicions 2009-2010 a la Sala Rusiñol. En aquests moments, res tan oportú com aquesta col·lecció de quadres -de magistrals espurneigs de vida quotidiana- per al nostre feliç retorn al decurs de la nostra existència ordinària. Protagonistes d’aquests “llampurneigs” són la urbanitas (instants de la vida de la urbs) i la figura femenina.
Abans de començar l’acte inaugural, la Mònica és entrevistada per una periodista del diari digital Cugat.cat.
El director de la Sala Rusiñol, l’Ignasi Cabanas i Castells, ens dóna la benvinguda en el començament de la nova temporada, «amb una pintora nova, tot i que ella fa molt de temps que pinta». De l’exposició destacà que «és tant real com actual: la cosa quotidiana».
En Josep Mª Cadena presenta l’obra de la Mònica Castanys. El Sr. Cadena, “gat vell” del món de cultural, encetà el seu parlament tot remuntant-se als orígens de l’artista. Ella és neta d’en Valentí Castanys i Borràs, personatge important de l’humor gràfic en el periodisme català (“El Xut”, “El be negre”, “El Correu Català”, “El Tebeo”, etc.). Això, però, no ho és tot: «En la revista “Destino” vaig veure el pare de la Mònica, a qui se’l coneixia com el Tinet (de Valentinet)». Ell, dins de llurs circumstàncies, expressaven a través de l’humor l’aspiració a la llibertat, el convenciment del que són i han de ser les persones».
«Però tot això -continuà dient en Cadena- no te res a veure amb la pintura de la Mònica. Amb tot…, sí que hi ha un punt de contacte: la llibertat. La seva pintura mostra dones; explica el personatge femení que cerca la seva pròpia realització enmig de les dificultats». D’això s’esdevé que en aquesta col·lecció veiem força escenes en les que apareixen una o algunes dones ajagudes en el bar, o elles soles llegint, o una de sola tot pensant…: i és que un s’ha de trobar a si mateix per a tenir l’espai de llibertat necessari amb vista a interpretar la societat.
«Desitjo agrair especialment a la Sala Rusiñol la dedicació i l’entusiasme en el seu treball per a poder-vos presentar aquesta col·lecció de 50 peces, realitzades des de mitjans del 2007. I, com no!, agrair també l’aportació del Sr. Josep Mª Cadena amb les seves experimentades paraules (…). Anys enrere jo pintava figura d’estudi. Això m’inspirava…, amb poses estudiades i mil·limètricament composades. Amb tot, estava sotmesa al rigor d’uns horaris, d’una tasca. La monotonia m’obligava a lluitar per a trobar els meus moments… Prendre un cafè, potser, acabà sent un dels millors instants del dia, com també jeure en una terrassa tot observant els turistes, amb aquella tranquil·litat, amb aquell deixar passar el temps sense mirar el rellotge…».
«La llum i el contrast captats són l’escenari que em permet ambientar el que per a mi és més important: la figura. El lloc on s’ubica aquesta figura no és un pretext per a pintar-la i evidenciar en la tela totes les sensacions que us intento transmetre (…). Perquè aquesta figura -amb l’expressió del seu cos- és el llibre de sensacions positives que se’m obre i que us porto. Potser no sentireu la flaire del cafè de la taula veïna, ni la música de fons… Aquesta serà la vostra aportació: l’art viu gràcies a la imaginació de la gent que el contempla: sense aquest contacte no seria art».
És habitual en els vernissatges de la Sala Rusiñol sortejar entre els assistents una nota d’art del pintor que exposa. Sota la “notarial” mirada d’en Josep Mª Cadena, veiem l’Ignasi Cabanas posant en marxa els preparatius per a aquest sorteig. L’assisteixen, com a “mans innocents”, la Clara i en Rafel.
